AART, Inc. Product Information AART's soft-solid silicone implants are all made of implant grade silicone elastomer formulated for long-term implantation, and all are carvable. Implant hardness can be adjusted and normally mimics the native tissue that it replaces or augments. Pectoralis Implants come in three styles. Each style has multiple sizes. Style 1 is by far the most popular style. Pectoral Implants are available non-sterile and sterile, and are packaged and sold individually, not in pairs. Both styles are mirror-image meaning that they are each made for a specific side and are directional. They are normally inserted through a transaxillary (armpit) incision under the pectoralis major muscle and above the pectoralis minor muscle. Calf Implants are available in three styles and several sizes. They are available non-sterile and sterile, and are packaged and sold individually. Depending on the patient needs, the doctor may use one or two implants (medial and lateral) in each leg. Gluteal Implants are primarily used for augmentation surgery and are available in 4 styles. The most common design is Style 3, a round, non-directional implant. The style 1 and 2 provide an exceptional result even when placed subfascially. All gluteal implants are sold individually and offered non-sterile and sterile. Chin Implants are used for cosmetic augmentation, repairing trauma related injuries and genetic deficiencies. They are frequently inserted through an incision in the mouth below the incisor teeth or through an incision below the chin. They are available in ten styles to meet most cosmetic and reconstructive needs. The hardness is a medium hardness consistent with the needs of a bone onlay. Malar (Cheek) Implants are available in multiple styles and sizes and used to add shape and contour to the face, primarily for cosmetic applications. Style 1 is considered the anatomical malar and represents the most common style. Our malar implants are a medium durometer, similar to the chin. Nasal Implants are used as a cartilage substitute to more easily shape or reshape the nose. AARTıs nasal implants are substantially softer than the chin and malar implants to minimize skin erosion. Custom Implants are designed specifically for an individual patient and anatomical site. A very common custom implant is for Pectus Excavatum and Poland's Syndrome. To assist in creating the best anatomical fit, we have a two-part impression putty for making a moulage (model) of defects. Turnaround time is 2 to 4 weeks. Silicone Carving Implants are available in many shapes and sizes. We have the rectangular block as well as pre-formed designs, which can be used as is or carved as needed. All silicone carving implants are non-sterile and packaged individually. Dimisiltm Scar Gel is a light silicone polymer provided in 10cc (or ml) tubes for the treatment of scars, both fresh and older. A very small amount is squeezed onto the finger and lightly applied to the scar. The Dimisiltm material will be tacky when first applied but will be non-tacky to the touch within 2 to 3 minutes. At that time, the individual can put on make-up, suntan lotion or go about their daily routine. The Dimisiltm Scar Gel works best when used in conjunction with the Dimisiltm Gel Sheeting. The gel sheeting can be worn overnight and be replaced with the scar gel for use during the day. Both gel products can be cleaned up with simple soap and water or rubbing alcohol (isopropanol). Dimisiltm Gel Sheeting is a tacky silicone gel affixed to an adjustable spandex backing. The normal color for the backing is a pearlescent white. The tacky silicone side of the sheet is placed on the scar and worn. Occasionally, there may be a need for the user to use tape to aid in keeping the sheeting in place. It is ok to allow the use of the tape. As indicated above, soiled gel sheeting can be cleaned with simple soap and water or rubbing alcohol (isopropanol). This cleaning will reduce the tackiness of the sheeting and will require replacement sooner than if the cleaning wasn't done. Copyright 2006 AART, Inc., All Rights Reserved |
